Albert Eugene 'Pete' Johnson

Albert Eugene ‘Pete’ Johnson, 90, of Frankfort, passed away on Jan. 5, 2018. He was born Sept. 29, 1927, to Etta Ellen Johnson and Joseph Daniel Johnson.

He was a veteran, having served in the Navy near the end of WWII. He retired from Mallory Controls in Frankfort, where he worked as a sales engineer. His work required frequent travel, which helped to nurture his interest in geography.

He was a very strong and dignified man, beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather, known to enjoy watching Saturday morning cartoons with his children - Randa Lee Johnson, Peter Kevin Johnson and Patti Jo Wickes – and also building pillow forts with his grandchildren – Aubrey Lynn Suppiger, Leigh Kim Myers and Jared Johnson Wickes.

He fought and won three separate battles with cancer. He was an avid golfer with eight documented aces. He was preceded in death by his former wife, Norma Carolyn Johnson.

He is survived by his former wife, Maryann Scott Johnson; his children and grandchildren listed above; along with five great grandchildren, Keira Dae Kim Ringel, 11, Alexandra Laine Wickes, 10, Grayson Joseph Suppiger, 7, Brendan Michael Myers, 7, Carleigh Elizabeth Wickes, 5, and Olive Caroline Myers, 4.

He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him. There will be no funeral services, as he wished to be cremated. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the American Cancer Society.
