Richard Charles Schubert

Richard Charles Schubert, 74, of Frankfort, passed away Sunday, Feb. 4, 2018, at Milner Community Healthcare in Rossville.

He was born Nov. 2, 1942, in Stockbridge, Mich., to the late Richard Lewis and Betty Elaine (Ruggles) Schubert.

Richard served in the United States Air Force. He worked several jobs including Burkett Construction in Texas and was a truck driver for LandSpan Trucking. He was a past member of the Eagles Lodge and enjoyed participating in activities at the Paul Phillippe Resource Center. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards and bingo, and loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving Richard are his sons, Robert Allen (Lyn) Friend of North Carolina, James Melvin Friend of Texas, Donald (Sue) Holland of Missouri and John Charles Schubert of Texas; daughters, Kristina Leah (Randy) Kite of Frankfort and Deanna Lynne Schubert of Texas; brother, Ron (Jane) Schubert of Michigan; sisters, Betty Hall of Michigan and Barb (Dave) Brown of Tennessee; 16 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his life-long companion and best friend, Shirley Marlene Cowan; a grandchild; and a great grandchild.

Memorial visitation will be held Tuesday, Feb. 13, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort from 12 p.m. until the start of the service at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Plainview Cemetery in Colfax.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Paul Phillippe Resource Center.
