Crash takes out two utility poles

BY SHARON BARDONNER - sbardonner@ftimes.com

Several residents on Frankfort’s west side lost power Friday afternoon when a grey 2006 BMW driven by Scott Nail left the roadway and hit a utility pole, causing it to break. When that pole went down, the tug from the falling power lines pulled a second pole down as well, according to a report from Chief Deputy Joe Mink of the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office.

Nail was traveling south on Armstrong Road at 3:34 p.m. and for an unknown reason left the roadway and struck the utility pole. The BMW came to rest in a field about 400-500 feet from the road.

Mink said Nail was transported to a local hospital, treated and released. Due to the incident being a personal injury accident, per protocol, toxicology tests were run.

The crash caused power to be out for several hours in the area, said Mink, until it was restored by Frankfort City Light and Power.
